Recap: Trenton Catholic Academy vs. Bordentown Scotties

Even though the Bordentown Scotties scored an imposing 59 points on Monday, Trenton Catholic Academy still came out on top. Trenton Catholic Academy secured a 65-59 W over Bordentown. Given Trenton Catholic Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Bordentown is ranked 282nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the defeat, Bordentown had strong showings from Andrew DeCosta, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds, and Myles Hansford, who scored 12 points along with three steals. The matchup was DeCosta's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Max Martin was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Trenton Catholic Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Bordentown, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trenton Catholic Academy will square off against Westampton Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Westampton Tech focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Monday. As for Bordentown, they will head out on the road to face off against Doane Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Doane Academy is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
