Recap: South Windsor Bobcats vs. Rocky Hill Terriers
On Friday, South Windsor beat Rocky Hill 28-20. South Windsor pushed the score to 28-8 by the end of the third, a deficit Rocky Hill cut but never quite recovered from.
South Windsor had a senior duo take command as Logan Sherwood gained 179 total yards and two touchdowns and Mitch Chaves threw for 114 yards and two touchdowns.
When it comes to explaining why Rocky Hill lost, one person who can't be blamed is Joseph Motes. Despite the final result, he threw for 274 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.8% of his passes. Daryl Asante was another key contributor, gaining 35 total yards and two touchdowns.
South Windsor's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Bridgeport Central and 1-8 Rocky Hill (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 30.6% over those games). As for Rocky Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Windsor will take on Enfield at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Rocky Hill will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Cromwell/Portland at 6:00 p.m. on November 22nd.
