Softball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Boswell's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Boswell never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the North Crowley Panthers 18-0. Considering the Pioneers have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Layla David was a standout: she scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Savannah Neighbors was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and four RBI.

Boswell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Crowley only posted an OBP of .250.

Boswell is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for North Crowley, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-17-1.

Coming up, Boswell will face off against Aledo at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bearcats will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Pioneers surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Crowley, they will challenge Mansfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
