Ahmad Ivey with 2:00 to go in the third.
Each side put up seven points during the third quarter, and the fourth quarter began with the margin still at four.
Goston was the top performer for Buchholz. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown.
Forest's lone touchdown came on a 20-yard run in the third quarter.
BHS had struggled this season, allowing 32.0 points per game.
The Gainesville school got revenge for last year's 52-36 loss to FHS with the victory.
In a 7A District 1 game next week Buchholz (4-5) takes on West Port, and Forest (3-5) will go up against Lincoln also in a 7A District 1 game.
