It was a good run, but New Covenant unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 34-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Cross Raiders. The Gryphons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Several Gryphons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jocelyn Walker, who posted eight points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Jacobs, who put up four points in addition to ten steals and eight boards.

North Cross was led to victory by Tina Chiwata and Mercedes Herrera Arias. Chiwata went 5 for 7 en route to 11 points, while Herrera Arias went 5 of 8 on her way to 10 points.

New Covenant's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for North Cross, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-11.

New Covenant has already played their next match (against Virginia Episcopal School), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. North Cross has already played their next contest, a 49-21 defeat against Jefferson Christian Academy on the 24th.
