Volleyball Recap: Jack Banks' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Columbia City over East Noble

It was a good run, but Columbia City unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the East Noble Knights by a score of 3-2. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Columbia City actually scored more points across those five sets (113-104), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 18-25, 29-27, 17-25, 15-13.

Columbia City's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Banks, who had 22 assists and four digs. Banks has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more assists the last three times he's played.

Columbia City's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 11-7. As for East Noble, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-5.

Columbia City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Homestead on the 1st. As for East Noble, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Huntington North on the 30th.
