Volleyball Recap: Portsmouth West Senators vs. Waterford Wildcats
Portsmouth West proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Waterford Wildcats 3-2. For the Senators, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.
Portsmouth West took Waterford into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 25-11, 25-19, 16-25, 15-12.
Macey Whisman paced Portsmouth West's offense, picking up 16 kills. Whisman got some help from Brayleigh Pistole and her 31 assists. Chloe Bryant controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Portsmouth West's victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Waterford, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
After both having extra time off, Portsmouth West and South Webster will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Waterford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
