Basketball Game Preview: North Brunswick Scorpions vs. Carolina Forest Panthers

The North Brunswick Scorpions will take on the Carolina Forest Panthers in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in North Brunswick's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Last Friday, North Brunswick was able to grind out a solid victory over Topsail, taking the game 64-53.

Kane Jenrette was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. Marcus Smith was another key player, going 6 for 13 on his way to 15 points.

North Brunswick smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Carolina Forest put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They snuck past Loris with an 86-82 win. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

North Brunswick pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for Carolina Forest, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.
