Soccer Game Preview: Sallisaw vs. Gravette

The Sallisaw Black Diamonds will face off against the Gravette Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sallisaw will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Sallisaw made easy work of McAlester and carried off an 8-1 win. The result was nothing new for Sallisaw, who have now won seven matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit McAlester with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Wesley Rodriguez (3), Ethan Girdner (3), Will Martin, and Dawson Upton.

Meanwhile, Gravette fell victim to Danville and their airtight defense last Tuesday. They fell just short of the Little Johns by a score of 1-0. That's two games in a row now that Gravette have lost by just one goal.

Sallisaw's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Gravette, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything went Sallisaw's way against Gravette when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Sallisaw made off with an 8-2 win. Do the Black Diamonds have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
