Avalon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Union Hill 7-6. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by just one run.

Meanwhile, Brookeland got themselves on the board against Chester on Friday, but Chester never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Yellowjackets with a sharp 8-0 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Brookeland's win bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Avalon, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9-1.
