Volleyball Recap: Salem Extends Winning Streak to Three

Salem had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Saugus Sachems as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 on September 9th.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-12, 25-20.

Jenna Phelps paced Salem's offense, picking up 11 kills. Phelps got some help from Mia Silva and her 22 assists. Silva was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Salem's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Saugus, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Salem is set to take on their familiar foe Masconomet Regional at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Saugus will challenge rival Peabody Veterans Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
