Football Recap: Permian Finds Playoff Glory Versus Eastlake

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Permian had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 59-7 win over the Eastlake Falcons. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Permian was led to victory by Kayden Vickers and Gavin Black. Vickers threw for 383 yards and four TDs while completing 76.5% of his passes, while Black rushed for 86 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries. Those 383 passing yards gave Vickers a new career-high.

Permian's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Coffie Powell, Braden Woody, and Luis Zapiain, who each picked up one sack apiece.

The victory was the tenth in a row for Permian, bringing their record up to 10-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.9 points over those games. As for Eastlake, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Coming up, Permian will take on Lake Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last five matchups. Eastlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
