River View hasn't had much luck against John Glenn recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The River View Black Bears will be home for the holidays to greet the John Glenn Little Muskies at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
River View took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They snuck past Sheridan with a 61-57 victory. With that win, the Black Bears brought their scoring average up to 52.2 points per game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead River View to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carter Wesney, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds. That's the most boards Wesney has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Walters, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 17 points.
Meanwhile, John Glenn was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Philo 65-32. That looming 65-32 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Little Muskies yet this season.
River View better keep an eye on Stehl Bates. He was instrumental in John Glenn's win, going 8 for 13 on his way to 21 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Bates' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Davis, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 13 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.
The victory got River View back to even at 2-2. As for John Glenn, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: River View has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.5 boards per game. However, it's not like John Glenn struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
