Basketball Recap: Eastside Takes a Loss

Eastside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Prairie Heights Panthers 65-32. The Blazers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Prairie Heights' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jake Stoy, who went 6 of 14 en route to 14 points along with six boards and five assists. That's the most points Stoy has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Caston Day, who posted 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Eastside's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Prairie Heights, their win ended a 14-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3.

Eastside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-32 defeat against Lakewood Park Christian on the 17th. As for Prairie Heights, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 53-41 victory against South Bend Career Academy on the 18th.
