Baseball Recap: Liberty Comes Up Short

Liberty couldn't beat Poly on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the seventh inning. The Bison fell just short of the Bears by a score of 9-8. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bison of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Alex Arteaga was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with five RBI and one double.

Liberty's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-8. As for Poly, their record now sits at 10-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bears beat Liberty by a score of 6-5 on Friday.
