Baseball Recap: Del Norte Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Del Norte waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the La Veta Redhawks by a score of 16-12.

Liam Kreutzer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up four earned runs off only one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with one home run, seven RBI, and two stolen bases.

In other batting news, Paul Neal was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Del Norte: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Graesyn Coulson, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Del Norte's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for La Veta, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Del Norte beat the Redhawks by a score of 19-6 later that day.
