Baseball Recap: Fairfield Union Comes Up Short

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Fairfield Union and Bloom-Carroll have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Falcons lost 12-6 to the Bulldogs. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Fairfield Union saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Dilcher, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Fairfield Union's record is now 8-5-1. As for Bloom-Carroll, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfield Union will head out to square off against Circleville at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bloom-Carroll, they will venture away from home to face off against Newark at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
