Preview: Mira Mesa Marauders vs. Patrick Henry Patriots
Mira Mesa is 10-0 against Patrick Henry since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Mira Mesa Marauders' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Patrick Henry Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mira Mesa scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 64-24 victory over Lincoln. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Mira Mesa has posted since November 21, 2023.
It was another big night for Ivorii Seals, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Mira Mesa's points. Alyssa Otero was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Patrick Henry was able to grind out a solid victory over Point Loma on Tuesday, taking the game 49-42.
Cecelia Parker was the offensive standout of the game as she dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimora Nears, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Mira Mesa is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. Patrick Henry's record is now 7-14.
Mira Mesa took their win against Patrick Henry in their previous matchup back in November of 2021 by a conclusive 57-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mira Mesa since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
