Softball Recap: Babcock Trailblazers vs. Mason Classical Academy Paladins

On Thursday, the Babcock Trailblazers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Mason Classical Academy Paladins 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trailblazers.

Brooklyn Mills was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and only one walk). Mills was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Greenwell, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and two stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Bry Tressel, who scored a run and stole four bases while going 1-for-2.

Babcock's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Babcock will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Cape Coral at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mason Classical Academy, they will head out to face off against Seacrest Country Day at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mason Classical Academy is coming into the game on an eight-game losing streak dating back to last season.
