Algona had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Webster City Lynx. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lynx, too.

Algona's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Webster City, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 12-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Lynx beat Algona by a score of 5-1 later that day.
