Recap: Woods Charter Wolves vs. Wake Prep Academy Guardians

On Wednesday, Woods Charter lost to Wake Prep Academy at home by a decisive 49-34 margin. Woods Charter has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Woods Charter's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caroline Mitchell, who scored 20 points. That was a full 58.8% of Woods Charter's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wesley Oliver, who scored 12 points.

Wake Prep Academy found their leader in underclassman Olivia Langton, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 11 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Langton has scored all season. Chelsea Lange was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Woods Charter's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Wake Prep Academy, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woods Charter will stay at home for another game and welcome Raleigh Charter at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. Raleigh Charter is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Wake Prep Academy, they will be playing at home against St. Mary's at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. St. Mary's has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
