Baseball Recap: Palo Verde Valley Comes Up Short

Palo Verde Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brawley Wildcats.

Wesly Dill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Palo Verde Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kole White, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Palo Verde Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11-1. As for Brawley, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Palo Verde Valley beat the Wildcats by a score of 10-8 on Friday.
