Basketball Recap: Union Colony Prep Starts off Right with Win over Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado

Union Colony Prep took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Wednesday. They blew past the Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado Archers 74-48. With the Timberwolves ahead 53-22 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Union Colony Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noah Herndon, who shot 64% from beyond the arc to rack up 23 points along with seven assists and three steals. Those 23 points gave Herndon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tanner Sarchet, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Union Colony Prep is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Weldon Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado, they will face off against Two Roads Charter School at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
