Basketball Recap: Peachtree Academy Comes Up Short at Home Against Young Americans Christian

Peachtree Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 46-42 to the Young Americans Christian Eagles on Monday. Panthers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Eagles since Monday.

Peachtree Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Liam Abraham, who posted 12 points and six rebounds. Julian Baluta was another key player, putting up 11 points and five boards.

Yazan Aldawi was a one-man wrecking crew For Young Americans Christian. as he dropped a triple-double with 15 points, 18 rebounds, and ten blocks. Another player making a difference was Carl Henry, who earned six points.

Young Americans Christian has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peachtree Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against HALO at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will be up against the Wolfpack's rather soft defense (which has allowed 55.71 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Young Americans Christian, they are taking a road trip to square off against Scholars Guild Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
