The Point Pleasant Beach Garnet Gulls and the Ocean Township Spartans will compete for holiday cheer at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Point Pleasant Beach will be strutting in after a win while Ocean Township will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Wednesday, Point Pleasant Beach humbled Lacey Township with a 67-37 victory.

Meanwhile, Ocean Township came up short against Neptune on Thursday and fell 39-30.

Point Pleasant Beach didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Ocean Township when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 54-49 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Point Pleasant Beach since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
