Basketball Recap: Riley Lormand's Big Game Can't Quite Lead John Paul the Great Academy over ARC Academy

John Paul the Great Academy saw some tournament action on Saturday. The contest between the Guardians and the ARC Academy Warriors didn't end well, with the Guardians falling 47-31. The Guardians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

John Paul the Great Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Riley Lormand, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. Lormand is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least four every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Odinet, who posted eight points along with nine boards and four steals.

John Paul the Great Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for ARC Academy, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

John Paul the Great Academy and ARC Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Guardians see the court they'll take on First Baptist Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 2. As for ARC Academy, their break will end when they face Mount Olive Christian at 12:10 p.m. on December 5.
