Softball Recap: St. Anthony Comes Up Short

St. Anthony had lost four straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 3-6 to make it five. They came up short against the San Antonio Christian Lions, falling 11-0. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Yellowjackets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for San Antonio Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Considering they have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For San Antonio Christian's part, Taytum Robert was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Robert also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Taylor Robert, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Anthony will face off against St. Joseph at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Flyers have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for San Antonio Christian, they will challenge Providence Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
