Baseball Recap: Cross Roads Takes a Loss

Cross Roads fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Kerens on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 6-2 to Kerens. That makes it the first time this season Cross Roads has let down their home crowd.

Cross Roads saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ruger Bane, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Cross Roads and nudges their season record down to 6-4. As for Kerens, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cross Roads will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cayuga at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. As for Kerens, they will head out to square off against Frankston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Frankston 2.9, Kerens 1.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
