Preview: Arlington Christian vs. Hills Academy Knights

Arlington Christian has been on the road for six straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Hills Academy Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Arlington Christian didn't have too much trouble with W D Mohammed on the road as they won 64-49. 64 seems to be a good number for Arlington Christian as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Arlington Christian found their leader in underclassman Chezi Essel, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Essel is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Davon Aikens, who scored 14 points along with two steals.

Meanwhile, Hills Academy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past New Creation Christian Academy 60-58. 60 seems to be a good number for Hills Academy as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Hills Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Adrian Campbell, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five assists, and Micah Pugh, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ralph Doomes III, who scored four points along with two blocks.

Arlington Christian's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6. As for Hills Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Arlington Christian hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 62.1 points per game. However, it's not like Hills Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 68.4 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
