Softball Recap: Riverdale Ridge Has No Trouble Against Northglenn

After only one run in their last game, Riverdale Ridge made sure to put some runs up on the board against Northglenn on Saturday. The Ravens put the hurt on the Norsemen with a sharp 14-4 victory. The Ravens might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Brooklyn Herschberger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Riverdale Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 11-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Riverdale Ridge's record now sits at 13-6. As for Northglenn, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Riverdale Ridge will square off against Brighton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Ravens surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northglenn, they will challenge Fairview at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something the Norsemen will no doubt try to take advantage of.
