Football Game Preview: Fort Lupton Bluedevils vs. Brush Beetdiggers + How To Watch

Fort Lupton hasn't had much luck against Brush recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bluedevils will square off against the Beetdiggers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Fort Lupton took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They took down The Academy 25-8. The Bluedevils' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

A big part of Fort Lupton's victory came down to the chemistry between Josiah Gonzales and his top target Donte Lenox. Gonzales threw for 182 yards and two TDs on only 16 passes while Lenox picked up 112 receiving yards and a pair of scores. That's the most passing yards Gonzales has posted since back in October of 2024.

Fort Lupton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Charlie Collier, Lenox, Jordan Medina, and Dylen Hofferber picked up one apiece. Fort Lupton got some further help from Donovan Buschman: he forced one fumble and made eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Brush strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Sterling 42-6. The Beetdiggers' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Fort Lupton better keep an eye on Ritchie Bruno. He was instrumental in Brush's win, rushing for 105 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Cassius Middlemist made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Brush was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 243 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 243 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Fort Lupton's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Brush, their record is now 6-0.

Fort Lupton couldn't quite get it done against Brush in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 21-14. Can the Bluedevils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
