Basketball Recap: Eureka's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Eureka won the last time they faced GV Christian, and Megan Johnson did her part to make sure it happened again. The Eureka Vandals breezed by the GV Christian Guardians to the tune of 57-14 on Friday thanks in part to Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 27 times she's played.

Natalie Gray was another key player, putting up six points and five steals. Those five steals gave her a new career-high.

GV Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Samantha Charron and Lucina Juneau. Charron posted eight points, while Juneau had no points.

The win made it two in a row for Eureka and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for GV Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Eureka didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-13 victory against Round Mountain on the 6th. As for GV Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 25-20 win against Lund on the 7th.
