Football Game Preview: Ketchum Warriors vs. Woodland Cougars

The Ketchum Warriors will face off against the Woodland Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Ketchum is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Fairland on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Warriors took a blow against the Owls, falling 55-14. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 20-0.

Ketchum might have lost, but man, Keegan Johnston was a machine: he rushed for 154 yards and one score on only 11 carries, and also threw for 89 yards and one TD. The Warriors also got a significant boost from Logan Beisley, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 80 yards.

Meanwhile, Woodland got themselves on the board against Summit Christian Academy on Thursday, but Summit Christian Academy never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 42-0 victory over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won four games by 42 points or more so far this season.

Ketchum better keep an eye on Patrick Freeman. He was instrumental in Woodland's win, rushing for 39 yards and one touchdown, while also catching one TD.

Woodland didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Landon Presson and Jaston Terry.

Woodland's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points over those games. As for Ketchum, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Ketchum took a serious blow against Woodland when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 62-6. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Warriors were down 46-0.
