Basketball Game Preview: Piedmont Community Charter Patriots vs. Queen's Grant Stallions

The Piedmont Community Charter Patriots will face off against the Queen's Grant Stallions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Piedmont Community Charter is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Queen's Grant on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Piedmont Community Charter took a blow against Queen's Grant, falling 71-26. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 376th, while the Stallions are ranked 183rd).

Piedmont Community Charter better focus on containing Misa Garris and Za'Miya Bynum as the pair were huge in Queen's Grant's win. Garris dropped a double-double with 30 points and 15 steals, while Bynum went 16 of 26 on her way to 33 points in addition to eight steals and five boards. Bynum's evening made it 19 games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Casey Smith, who posted eight points along with four steals and four blocks.

The victory was the seventh in a row for Queen's Grant, bringing their record for this year to 17-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 50.6 points. As for Piedmont Community Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.
