Volleyball Recap: South Newton Takes a Loss

South Newton suffered their biggest loss since August 19th on Monday. They came up short against the Benton Central Bison, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Rebels in their meetings with the Bison: they've now lost six in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-7, 25-21.

Jada Cripe paced South Newton's offense, picking up six kills. Cripe got some help from Lindsay Lowe and her 15 assists.

Benton Central was led to victory by Isabelle Adams and Madison Minniear. Adams had 21 assists and five digs, while Minniear had 16 assists and six digs. That's the most digs Minniear has posted over her last seven contests. Claire Whaley also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

South Newton's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Benton Central, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

South Newton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Illiana Christian on the 30th. As for Benton Central, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Logansport on the 30th.
