Preview: Eastside Lions vs. Littlerock Lobos
Eastside is 10-0 against Littlerock since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Eastside Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Littlerock Lobos at 5:00 p.m. Hopefully Eastside is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Littlerock in California (Eastside is ranked 449th, while Littlerock is ranked 1120th).
Eastside scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Palmdale, posting a 102-16 victory on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Eastside has managed all season.
Eastside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Camrynn Whitley led the charge by scoring 23 points. Whitley continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Niela Niela, who scored 21 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Littlerock, who are still winless after their sixth game. They were outmatched by Knight on the road and fell 90-7. Littlerock was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 67-1.
Eastside has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Littlerock, they bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Eastside against Littlerock in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 58-23 victory. Will Eastside repeat their success, or does Littlerock have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
