Softball Recap: Crystal Lake Central Comes Up Short

Crystal Lake Central has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.69 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They fell 11-7 to the Hampshire Whip-Purs. It was the first time this season that the Tigers let down their fans at home.

This is the second loss in a row for Crystal Lake Central and nudges their season record down to 12-4. As for Hampshire, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Crystal Lake Central is set to square off against their familiar foe Huntley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3.7, the Red Raiders 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Hampshire will take on rival McHenry at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
