Jamiya Brown commands the offense for Trojans win

Recap: Lincoln Trojans vs. Madison County Cowboys

The Lincoln Trojans had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 58-49 win over Madison County. For Lincoln, this counts as revenge for the 59-54 defeat Madison County walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2016.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lincoln to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamiya Brown, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Brown continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Amari Johnson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Madison County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Janiyah Mcknight. Despite the final result, she scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That was a full 36.7% of Madison County's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ja?niyah Livingston, who scored six points along with two steals.

Lincoln has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Madison County, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln will square off against Munroe at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Munroe will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 359th, while Lincoln is ranked 116th). As for Madison County, they will head out on the road to square off against Suwannee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Suwannee will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
