Baseball Recap: Carlson Takes a Loss

Carlson fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Taylor on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Griffins by a score of 6-5. The Marauders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Griffins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Kyle Salisbury was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 5-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Matthew MacBride also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Carlson dropped their record down to 9-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Taylor, their record is now 5-7.

Looking ahead, Carlson will be playing in front of their home fans against Powers Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Taylor, they will head out on the road to square off against Trenton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
