Football Recap: Jake Vaughan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Holy Savior Menard over Kinder

Holy Savior Menard lost against Kinder back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles took a hard 50-32 fall against the Yellowjackets. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jake Vaughan, who rushed for 72 yards and one TD, and also threw for 159 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Matthew Hicks was Vaughan's top target, picking up 95 receiving yards and one score.

Even if they lost, Holy Savior Menard's defensive line still kept up the pressure with seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Jacob Jeanise and Jack Simpson, who racked up all seven sacks between them. Jeanise is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in each of the last nine games he's played dating back to last season.

Holy Savior Menard's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Kinder, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Looking ahead, Holy Savior Menard will face off against Church Point at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Bears have now posted at least 31 points in their last six matchups. As for Kinder, they will challenge Port Barre at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
