Basketball Recap: Beau Wendt Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Gretna

There's no place like home for Blair, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 45-33 win over the Gretna Dragons on Tuesday. This was payback for the Bears, who suffered a 46-30 loss the last time these two teams met.

Blair's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Beau Wendt led the charge by putting up 12 points. Another player making a difference was Kate Wulf, who posted ten points.

Despite the defeat, Gretna saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ava Mcartor had 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aspen Votruba, who earned six points.

Blair now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Gretna, their record is now 5-7.

Blair will face off against Norris at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Norris will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Blair surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gretna, they will square off against Omaha North at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gretna is facing Omaha North at the right time seeing as Omaha North is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
