Volleyball Recap: Pius XI Catholic Comes Up Short

Pius XI Catholic lost against Marquette University back in September of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Popes fell 2-0 to the Hilltoppers. The Popes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Ben Ballard paced Pius XI Catholic's offense, picking up four kills. Ballard got some help from Finley Roney and his five assists. Morgan Gillitzer controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Pius XI Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Marquette University, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-5.

Pius XI Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against New Berlin Eisenhower/New Berlin West on the 24th. As for Marquette University, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Muskego on the 20th.
