Basketball Recap: Tompkins Takes a Loss

Tompkins's tournament run continued when they took on Austin on Friday. The Tompkins Falcons fell just short of the Austin Maroons by a score of 54-52. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Austin was led to victory by Foley Anderson and Evelyn Young. Anderson almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards, while Young went 5 of 6 on her way to 10 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Those 15 points gave Anderson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Hillard, who posted five points and three steals.

Tompkins' loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Austin, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Tompkins didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-44 defeat against Antonian Prep on the 28th. As for Austin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 53-34 victory against Round Rock Westwood on the 28th.
