Volleyball Recap: Tarboro Comes Up Short

Tarboro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against Kinston, falling 3-0.

Tarboro took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-17, 25-18.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kinston to victory, but perhaps none more so than DIARA GOODING, who had 22 digs and eight aces. GOODING has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was TANIJA SUTTON, who had 18 digs and three aces.

Tarboro's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Kinston, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-11.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Tarboro will face off against rival Greene Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Kinston is set to take on their familiar foe Ayden - Grifton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
