Dynamic duo of Alaina Bonacquista and Ellery Grebenik lead The Classical Academy to victory

Recap: The Classical Academy Titans vs. Pueblo East Eagles

The Classical Academy Titans had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 56-44 victory over Pueblo East. That result was just more of the same for these two, as The Classical Academy also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.

Leading The Classical Academy to victory were Alaina Bonacquista and Ellery Grebenik. Bonacquista scored 11 points along with four steals, while Grebenik scored 20 points. The contest was Bonacquista's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Peterson, who scored six points along with five rebounds.

Pueblo East's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Myah Abeyta, who scored 13 points along with four steals. The game was Abeyta's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Brailey Rowe was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Even though they lost, Pueblo East were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

The Classical Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Pueblo East, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

The Classical Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Vista Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Vista Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday.
