Aurora Central and Regis Groff are an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2018, but not for long. The Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Fusion at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Aurora Central will be strutting in after a win while Regis Groff will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with eight losses in a row, Aurora Central turned things around against Gateway on Thursday. They came out on top against the Olympians by a score of 3-1.

Aurora Central had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Regis Groff suffered their biggest defeat since August 30th on Tuesday. They came up short against Thomas Jefferson, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Fusion in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost six in a row.

While Regis Groff was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-19, 25-17.

Regis Groff's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-9. As for Aurora Central, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-15.

Aurora Central suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Regis Groff when the teams last played back in August of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
