Football Recap: Cascia Hall's Winning Streak Snapped at Eight Games

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Cascia Hall couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They and the Perkins-Tryon Demons were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but they suffered a 35-34 loss. The Commandos' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Perkins-Tryon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Wyatt Atkinson, who rushed for 221 yards and one score while picking up 11.1 yards per carry. Atkinson's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his tenth straight game with at least 101 rushing yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Beau Gravitt, who rushed for 119 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Cascia Hall's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Perkins-Tryon, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Cascia Hall does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Perkins-Tryon, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sulphur at 7:00 p.m. on December 5. The Demons will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points in their last 11 matchups.
