Basketball Recap: Marian Catholic Comes Up Short

Marian Catholic was the 70-66 winner over Weatherly when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Marian Catholic fell just short of Weatherly by a score of 54-52 on Tuesday.

When it comes to explaining why Marian Catholic lost, don't look at Rocco Griguoli. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 10 en route to 16 points and six boards. Griguoli is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Gregory Tirpak also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Even though they lost, Marian Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive contests.
