Volleyball Recap: Irvine Comes Up Short

Irvine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the University Trojans. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Irvine started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 28-26, 25-22, 25-23.

Irvine's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for University, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Irvine will challenge Woodbridge at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for University, they will take on Portola at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
