Basketball Game Preview: North Springs Spartans vs. Southwest DeKalb Panthers

North Springs hasn't had much luck against Southwest DeKalb recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Spartans will square off against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m.

On Friday, North Springs was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 55-51 to Blessed Trinity.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Southwest DeKalb over Arabia Mountain in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Panthers blew the Rams out of the water with a 70-29 final score. The Panthers have beaten the Rams the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Rams has come to flipping the script.

North Springs better keep an eye on Thomas Glanton, III. He was instrumental in Southwest DeKalb's win, dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten assists. Glanton, III is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Jackson Ushery was another key player, going 5-for-10 en route to 17 points.

Southwest DeKalb's record is now 2-0. As for North Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

North Springs might still be hurting after the 71-48 loss they got from Southwest DeKalb in their previous matchup back in January. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
